Description

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity striving for an equal world. One where every child can reach their full potential and every girl can choose her own future.

We bring people together to protect children’s rights and keep girls safe, in school and in control of their bodies – even when disaster strikes. And we won’t stop until we are all equal.

We are looking for an experienced and ambitious Senior Media and External Relations Manager to join our Strategic Communications and Content Unit. This newly created role manages a team of six, overseeing the organisation’s busy press office, developing comprehensive strategic communications plans, and enhancing our reputation and awareness among key stakeholders.

From delivering compelling content to showcase our fantastic corporate partnerships, to leading on our development of thought leadership and talent engagement, this varied and fast-paced role is pivotal to the organisation’s successful delivery of our brand awareness, fundraising and influencing objectives.

The successful candidate will have a significant track record of

leading multi-disciplinary communications teams, including a reactive press office, for large national organisations.

They will possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills, a strong network of senior stakeholder relationships, and proven experience managing successful communications campaigns alongside reputational risk.

Able to work effectively in a fast-changing external environment, they will have an outstanding news sense, and remain on top of communications and media trends to ensure our strategies remain bold, current and effective.

They will be comfortable

operating at a senior level to drive strategy, foster ambition and set direction for a team, ideally with experience of managing a team through a period of significant change.

And above all, they will be able to demonstrate a passion for gender equality and creating a safer, more just world for all children.

For further detail of this role, please see the job profile.

The deadline for applications is 23:59 on Sunday 16 June 2024

Interviews will take place on W/C 24 June 2024
