THE ROLE
Are you the right candidate?
  • Fluency in both written and spoken Persian and English and the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
  • Deep and detailed current knowledge of Iran, Afghanistan and the wider region.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of the Persian media market and the changing needs of the audience.
  • Having a thorough understanding of BBC Editorial guidelines, Persian Service’s target audience, content and objectives.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Persian culture to connect with the audience and make relevant content.
  • Having a natural, authentic style which will allow the audience to develop a relationship with you and the programme.
  • Understanding the difference between TV and digital audience needs and adjusting your presentation style and flair accordingly.
  • Strong interviewing skills, such as active listening and the ability to ask relevant and insightful questions.
  • Able to engage the audience through compelling storytelling.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for various music genres in Persian speaking countries, diaspora, and world Music
  • Proven experience in music programme production.
  • Demonstrating an extensive network within the Persian music industry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong budget management skills.
  • Demonstrable understanding and full compliance of BBC social media policy on personal accounts.

Salary: £45,000 - £50,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.
