The Project Manager function plays a key role within the project and service delivery processes at BBC Studios. As a PM, you will manage projects to deliver IT enabled business change across the organisation.
You will be managing delivery oriented project teams within a matrix reporting structure. You will be expected to actively build & sustain key stakeholder relationships both within and outside of Technology. You will control and report on project deliverables, progress against milestones, budget, resources, risks & issues in accordance with project governance framework already in place and seek to continuously work towards delivery excellence.
The ideal candidate is someone who has previous experience on managing small to medium scale projects, has successfully applied project delivery processes, learned and adopted a range of tools and methodologies.
Responsible for the delivery of projects assigned ensuring projects are delivered within the defined governance process, with control and to the expectations of key stakeholders.
Work within the BBC Studios project governance framework set out by the Investment Management Office (IMO) function within the Portfolios to create robust project plans, resource plans, financial estimates and key milestones for the assigned projects.
Allocate tasks to assigned resources in order to ensure that the projects meet agreed quality, cost and timescale parameters to realise benefits that align with the project sponsors expectations.
Control all aspects of projects from inception to implementation. Monitor and report on progress through all stages of delivery, from definition to transition to live operations.
Ensure project documentation aligns to standards set out by the IMO.
Manage expectations of key stakeholders throughout the life cycle of projects. Work with Portfolio teams to report to senior managers within the organisation.
Establish and attend project boards to report on project progress, finances, risks and issues to stakeholders and agree owners and actions for all risks to ensure successful delivery. Escalate to relevant managers any issues as appropriate.
Create and maintain a well-structured, professional project environment for your project teams where each member fully understands their role and responsibilities within project and is encouraged to deliver great results.
Develop and maintain an in depth understanding of your business area, its technology requirements and challenges.

Desired Skills and Experience
MSP, APM/PRINCE 2 or equivalent project management qualification
Experience in Agile methodologies desirable
Experience of leading project teams within a matrix management framework
Experience of working with third party project delivery teams
Previous experience of managing software implementation, in-house software delivery, technology and business change projects
Specific experience of working with 3rd party solution integrators desirable
Experience of delivering projects of size up to £1m
Previous project delivery experience within a multi-national organisation desirable
Experience of media specific processes and platforms desirable
