We are looking for a dynamic Senior Publicist to initiate, create and execute national publicity campaigns for a diverse roster of artist/music genres to raise public awareness of the existence of a record, band or project.
You will utilise your extensive understanding of the music industry and particularly the print and online media to promote artists to their full potential.

The B Side: Skills & Experience

Be Creative

  • Generate carefully targeted and managed PR campaigns for Island artists, across all media
  • Produce a complete and watertight publicity plans (print and online) for each act to ensure most beneficial tailored exposure
  • Writing and updating Press releases regularly and communicating them effectively to Radio/TV promotions, Digital, Marketing etc

Be Collaborative

  • Assist the Director of Publicity and other team members in integrating effective online and print PR strategies across the department
  • Liaise effectively with other departments within the company to ensure the maximum effectiveness of, and profile for, the work of the Publicity Team
  • Maintain excellent relations with all media related contacts by phoning, meeting and entertaining regularly
  • Attend gigs, entertain journalists and photographers

Be Organised

  • Compile the required materials/tools to present a complete visual and musical package to journalists, involving substantial creative input, e.g. organising photo-sessions
  • Represent Publicity Department at meetings in absence of Director of Publicity and weekly attendance and presentation at Company meetings to communicate latest status on every artist/new release as required
  • Keep abreast of developments in online and print publishing

Be Financial

  • Manage budget for each campaign
  • Accounts – using the company’s accounting system (Uniport) ensure that all press suppliers are paid promptly, attend monthly forecast meeting

Personal Specification

  • A proven track record in online and print PR
  • An excellent network of contacts across music press, national press, style, trade, fashion and culture titles, online and in print
  • Self-motivated and able to work across multi-genre artists from new UK signings to established international artists
