We seek a talented SEO Specialist who focuses on technical SEO and data. Our SEO product-led team is passionate about what it does and comprises dedicated engineers, an SEO PM, and an SEO BI analyst. This means your projects will come to life faster and have an immediate impact.

- Conduct advanced technical SEO audits and developed a monitoring system for Shutterstock.com.
- Identify areas of improvement in key technical SEO aspects, including:
Robots.txt optimisation and management
Crawlability, crawl budget, indexation, and XML sitemaps
Site structure, architecture, and taxonomy
Site performance (page speed, page load time, Core Web Vitals)
Internal linking and navigation (follow/nofollow, pagination)
Meta and structured data (Schema markup, JSON-LD, image alt text)
Noindex, canonicals, redirects (and redirect chains)
International and multilingual SEO (hreflang attributes)
Site migrations
Log file storage and analysis
Google Algorithm updates
SEO A/B experimentation and testing
Research and create deep dives, transforming findings into comprehensive documentation and reports that will become actionable
- Support the Growth SEO initiative by:
Identifying opportunities to develop new tools to attract top-funnel users
Closely monitor direct competitors to identify possible gaps and wins
Research and build documentation supporting possible changes in the web experience to enhance user signals and conversions
Work closely with the SEO PM to identify opportunities to partner with Shutterstock's internal teams
- Support the Head of SEO in shaping the medium/long-term vision and strategy.
- Partner with the SEO Bi Analyst to create custom dashboard reports and support prioritization and decision-making for current and future projects.
- Stay updated with the latest SEO trends, Google Algorithm changes, and advancements in generative AI and Google SGE.
- Report on the success metrics of implemented projects, including top-of-funnel and bottom-funnel metrics.
Technical SEO Tools: Screaming Frog, Lumar (Deepcrawl), Oncrawl, Botify, Sitebulb
General SEO Tools: Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, Brightedge
Data Manipulation Tools: Google Sheets, Microsoft Excel, SQL, Snowflake, BigQuery
Data Visualization Tools: Looker, Looker Studio, New Relic, or Tableau
Web Development: HTML/CSS, JavaScript, and HTTP status codes
Project Management: Jira, Trello, Confluence

6+ years of experience in SEO, with a focus on technical SEO.
Experience in enterprise SEO projects websites with 20+ million pages.
Proven experience conducting technical SEO audits and implementing optimization projects.
Strong understanding of site performance metrics, internal linking structures, and international SEO.
Experience working with image SEO or eCommerce sites optimized for image traffic.
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools.
Familiarity with manipulating large datasets using SQL and Python is a plus.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Confidence and self-motivation to dive deep into data and produce thorough documentation.
Thought leadership, a data-driven perspective on new SEO trends, and advancements in Google SGE and generative AI.
Experience with manipulating large datasets using SQL and Python.
Experience with marketplaces or image-focused strategy.
This position reports directly to the Technical SEO Lead.

The pay range for this position is below:
• 120,000 - 130,000 per year in New York
Note: Commission-eligible roles are expressed as on-target earnings (base and commission). Non-commission roles are expressed as base salary only but are also eligible for annual incentives.
