The role
What we are looking for is someone who has an inherent passion for all things social, as well as someone who has the unique skills and experience to be able to craft our copy and community responses to reflect our brand tone and values.
As Junior Social Community & Copy Manager you will work alongside our Brand & Social Manager to create engaging social campaigns and content. We are looking for someone whose knowledge of all things social drives our digital output forwards, pioneering fresh approaches and ensuring we are aware and part of social conversations and movements.
You will manage our social media community across all platforms, ensuring our responsive voice is reflective of our company values and position. You will also work alongside our in-house creative teams to come up with beautiful copy and ideas for our social posts, stories and campaigns, always ensuring whatever we post or respond is crafted in the correct tone of voice, approach and language of the brand.
Ultimately, you will be the social voice of notonthehighstreet, so this role is extremely important to us as we strive to become a best in class example. It will involve working closely with people from across the business, from creatives to curators, so we are looking for a confident writer who knows social inside and out. .
Please note - given the nature of the role, this will be a full time position (37.5 hours per week) spread across 4 full weekdays and some evening and weekend time for checking social media.

What you’ll be doing

  • Craft, proof read and edit audience relevant and legally compliant copy for output across all social media platforms, both for larger campaigns and for day to day communications to meet agreed deadlines
  • Be responsible for the community management of our social media platforms, being the responsive voice of the notonthehighstreet brand across Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more
  • Constantly monitor the community sentiment, identifying threats and being on top of any potential concerns. You should be able to make educated recommendations around whether or not to move forward with a real time response based on the brand positioning, social strategy and brand guidelines, working closely with the Head of Brand & Social to vet brand opportunities and assess risk.
  • Be responsible for social listening across the competitive landscape and on key topics, news and trends. Engage with third party listening tools where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with our in-house comms team to ensure we are accurately reflecting the views and position of notonthehighstreet in the social landscape
  • Continually identify social media trends and opportunities, and proactively capitalise on them in innovative ways, sharing learning with the wider brand and creative teams to drive future strategy development
  • Produce regular reports on activities and events using analytics to keep track of the community, highlight successes and identify areas of improvement or growth
  • Align social media and community plans with marketing strategy and business objectives


Some key skills and experience you'll need

  • Proven experience of both community managing and writing for a consumer brand's social channel is a must
  • Excellent command of the English language, with the ability to write engaging social copy that reflects brand tone of voice and resonates with our communities. Strong attention to detail is a must.
  • A strong understanding of the nuances of writing copy for specific social platforms, audiences and intentions
  • Deep understanding of the social media landscape including platforms (existing and emerging), algorithms, challenges and opportunities
  • A clear understanding of what makes social communities tick, and how to manage them effectively
  • Initiate brainstorms and rally the team to jump-start creative ideas. You may not always be responsible for the final execution of content, but would partner closely with the creative team, jumping in to help write copy and provide direction as needed
  • Experience creating content for social media platforms which can incorporate community content
  • Experience managing relationships with influencers, and delivering influencer-created content to a fixed schedule
  • Proven experience using data to develop social community strategies, optimising performance over time
  • Highly responsive and adaptable with the ability to multi-task and adapt to a fast trading environment
  • An ability to work autonomously in what can be a very fast-paced environment. You’ll have good judgement and know when to escalate matters to the Head of Brand & Social
  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of, and a passion for, our products, partners and brand
  • You will be a positive self motivator with strong initiative and the confidence to take ownership of your work and responsibilities
