We're looking for an ambitious social media practitioner to become our new Social Media Coordinator, BBC Two, for a permanent contract based in London.
The Social Media Coordinator, BBC Two, sits within the Content Social Team, reporting directly to the Social Media Manager, BBC Two, Four & iPlayer. The role has a remit across all BBC Two programming, to create bespoke social content for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram that reaches and engages 13-34 year olds.
Role Responsibility The Social Media Coordinator will:
  • Write brilliantly witty and engaging copy appropriate to social media platforms.
  • Liaise with programme makers to source required assets for use on social media.
  • Produce visual assets (Videos, images, gifs etc.) that can be used across social media channels.
  • Manage online communities day-to-day.
  • Build relationships and workflows with BBC Publicity and Picture Publicity teams to ensure alignment of information released around BBC Television programmes.
  • Proactively identify on-the-pulse opportunities to take our accounts into real time conversations on social media.
  • As required, to work out-of-hours shifts (evenings, weekends, bank holidays) to ensure that our social media activity is consistent with audience behaviours and usage.
  • Contribute to regular reviews with colleagues and stakeholders to review campaigns and social media activity.
  • Remain abreast of industry trends, digital developments and competitor activity, using this insight to inform our content development on social media.
Are you the right candidate? The ideal candidate will have:
  • Impeccable copywriting skills.
  • Some experience using video editing software such as Final Cut Pro or Adobe Premiere.
  • An organised and efficient approach.
  • Passion for television, and a good understanding of the BBC's output on air and on social media.
  • Sound understanding of social media industry and platform trends.
  • Attention to detail with good editorial judgement, accuracy and sensitivity.
  • An ability to meet targets and deadlines whilst managing a wide range of concurrent activities.
  • A highly analytical approach with an ability able to critically evaluate ideas and information.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with good presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across organisational boundaries.
  • Good understanding of the entertainment/broadcasting industry.
  • Experience of assisting and managing social media accounts and campaigns.
  • A record of creative achievement.
