Role Responsibility
As Social Media Strategist you will be focused on supporting the Snr Social Media Manager and Social Media Manager in implementing the Social Media strategy with a specific focus on driving innovative social-first content creation, and engaging community management. The role will require an expert in social, digital and video content trends, with proven experience working with social media platforms and testing new products to drive business objectives. You will write campaign briefs, project manage cross-functional creative teams and lead the team in curating and creating thumb stopping imagery and video.
As Social Media Strategist you will:
  • Strategise and assess the performance of @TheOfficialSelfridges @TheYellowDrop and @SelfridgesFood Instagram as well as leading developments across Stories, IGTV/Reels Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Tik Tok, and Pinterest for the UK and international markets, with a view to increasing brand awareness, driving engagement and traffic to the website.
  • Identify and implement new trends or channels in social media and video, leading the way for testing and development
  • Design and create original, elevated content for key projects and campaigns
  • Develop the community management strategy, with a view to grow acquisition, engagement and foster a sense of community
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Buying teams to plan and deliver ‘hype’ around key product launches
  • Manage and measure social media ecommerce drivers
  • Design and develop our social identity across graphics, icons and channel idents
  • Write briefs for our macro and micro campaigns
  • Project manage cross-functional creative teams in the delivery of social-first social content
  • Develop external relationships with our Social Media channel platforms, brands partners, influencers, and creative stakeholders to deliver innovative activations
  • Analyse key data to inform strategic decisions and use creative testing to build insights into our audience
  • Build a reporting system for key stakeholders
  • Train internal teams to integrate and maintain a cohesive social-first strategy
  • Challenge standards across the channels in keeping with our brand direction
  • Benchmark against key competitors and inspiring campaigns

The Ideal Candidate

  • A true social media native with 5 years+ experience in social media, preferably in fashion retail or a related industry with a strong understanding of marketing via social channels. You will have proven experience of leading campaigns from inception to delivery
  • Knowledgeable with the aability to cultivate target audiences and measure KPIs and have a working knowledge of video editing and applicable software
  • Creative with a keen creative eye and strong content creation skills and experience with Social CMS and listening tools such as Social Studio essential
  • A confident campaign planner with project management experience
  • Capable of working within a pressurized environment to tight deadlines
  • Confident and positive with solution-orientated outlook
  • Detail-orientated with good time management
