The Southern Europe Marketing Manager will report to the Senior Marketing Manager, EMEA and will be based in Barcelona. S/he will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs focused in the Southern Europe region - namely, ES, IT & PT but with a focus on ES given that is where the bulk of our marketing investment will be.
S/he will be responsible for driving the key objectives of the region - in this instance positive favourability - working collaboratively with cross-functional teams including Policy, PR/communications, growth marketing, product & product marketing, TAD, community engagement, and country leadership, for effective and impactful integrated plans.
In addition to marketing discipline expertise and being highly detail-oriented, the successful candidate will demonstrate a natural disposition to hosting in his / her daily activities, a willingness to pivot quickly when necessary and adjust plans accordingly, a passion for creativity and rigorous analytical thinking, as well as a strong sense of team.
Work closely with country leadership to develop local marketing plans for greatest business impact, in accordance with market opportunity, seasonality, community engagement, and brand health metrics.
Collaborate across functions to drive highly effective, creatively excellent integrated marketing activities, including but not limited to: advertising; social, digital and experiential conception; media strategy, execution, optimization, and program reporting; and growth and performance tactics.
Lead the management of creative and media agency partners, fostering best-in-class and highly productive agency partnerships
Enable and support localization of social strategies, ensuring all marketing activities feel local and personal, wherever possible leveraging existing strategies, content and plans for improved productivity
Manage analytics and reporting for brand health, business results and marketing activities working closely with Media Managers, FP&A and other analytics teams
Organize and attend regular routines across disciplines. Ensure seamless flow of information between global, regional & local teams
Conduct and disseminate regular AARs on projects including results, lessons learned and best practices to Global, regional and local internal and external partners
Manage and track marketing budgets and ensure effective budget use, meeting or exceeding efficiency targets
Work with HQ, finance and operations on budget forecasting and actualizing; ensuring timely SOWs and contracts with partners at all times; provide regular activity updates and reconciliations
Passion for Airbnb & travel. Experience hosting on the site is a huge plus.
10+ years of relevant work experience at a start-up, agency or client-side marketing, with preference in the consumer internet space of travel, design, technology, or lifestyle brands
Understanding of and experience working with product and/or growth marketing
An integrated marketing mindset, passion for creative excellence in storytelling through multiple media types, both visual and written, with solid experience in brand and creative strategy, off- and online media, including social, SEO, SEM, measurement & analytics, project / campaign and agency management
Appetite for a fast-paced environment and desire to constantly reassess and optimise
Excellent written and oral communication in Spanish and English, ideally with understanding of Italian
Solid and proven leadership capabilities, building and managing teams / networks, and communicating across national boundaries a must
Ability to work within tight deadlines, adjust quickly to changes in priorities, and balance short-term needs with long-term strategic initiatives. Ability to simplify is key!
