The ITV Commercial team is responsible for bringing in the £1.9bn worth of advertising that helps fund ITV's programming. However, the Commercial team isn’t just about advertising sales. We are looking for a Strategist (Client Strategy Manager) to join our collaborative team.
ITV’s Client Strategy Team…
ITV commercial works with over 1500 advertisers to help them create campaigns that cut through competitive clutter, harness popular culture, build credibility, drive fame for their brands and lead to transformational results for their businesses. The recently established client strategy team sits within the ITV Commercial division and has an overall remit to help ITV build closer and more strategic relationships with its advertisers.  This means we work closely with the broader commercial team to answer advertiser briefs, specifically, ensuring ideas are rooted in insight, aligned with a client's brand strategy and creative platform, and are properly measurable and effective.
We also work to foster long term relationships with clients - drawing on ITV knowledge, expertise and resources to help answer questions on marketing issues as diverse as: the power of TV, the interplay between channels, comms planning, brand positioning, audience targeting, measurement, effectiveness and best practice. ial division and has an overall remit to help ITV build closer and more strategic relationships with its advertisers.
This means we work closely with the broader commercial team to answer advertiser briefs, specifically, ensuring ideas are rooted in insight, aligned with a client's brand strategy and creative platform, and are properly measurable and effective.
We also work to foster long term relationships with clients - drawing on ITV knowledge, expertise and resources to help answer questions on marketing issues as diverse as: the power of TV, the interplay between channels, comms planning, brand positioning, audience targeting, measurement, effectiveness and best practice.
Some Key Responsibilities:
  • Help maintain regular client contact across accounts, build and strengthen these relationships providing ITV with good insight and understanding of client business, marketing and brand challenges.
  • Support strategy controller and senior strategist to deliver projects spanning the core areas of the client team’s work: inspiration, effectiveness, insight and innovation
  • Develop relationships with specialist internal teams (e.g. commercial audiences, advertising analytics) to ensure effective and efficient use of specialist resource
  • Uncover and add useful insight to client briefs, which can enhance the relevance and quality of ideas
  • Support senior strategists/controllers in the development of ‘think pieces’ for categories and brands that showcase our insight and strategic expertise
  • Support senior strategists/ controllers, contributing to case studies that showcase the breadth and depth of the work we do with clients, focusing particularly on ITV’s ability to drive business growth
  • Be knowledgeable about ITV’s wider proposition and able to pull in specialist teams (advertising analytics, VOD, trading, etc) as necessary and desirable
To be considered for this opportunity you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
  • Good background in Planning / Strategy, ideally from an advertising agency background
  • Good working knowledge of creative & media effectiveness, comms planning & creative processes
  • Smart, insightful, curious
  • Proactive, self starter, organised and efficient
  • Fast learner (who enjoys being stretched)
  • Personable & collaborative – able to work well with and build relationships with clients and with a wide range of internal teams
  • Strong insight & data /research skills
  • Creative and innovative thinking to drive new ideas
  • Comfortable ‘in the grey’ - we won’t always get the clearest briefs, we won’t always have time to approach something in a purist way – you will need to be agile, commercial and adaptable
