Studio Manager | ASOS Studios
Studio Managers at ASOS are the key leadership figures in the smooth, professional and successful running of ASOS Studios. They have an eye for all thing's creative, a practical ability for implementation and strategic mindset to deliver departmental and business goals. As one of our Studio Managers, you will be working closely with the management, wider senior teams and stakeholders across the business. You will lead, mentor and inspire the team to deliver the best ecommerce assets in the industry for the ASOS product pages, to appeal directly to the 20 something customer. You will drive department efficiency, whilst thinking commercially and innovatively. You will have the ability to successfully lead a team with a creative, strategic and operational mindset.
What you'll be doing...
  • Reporting directly into the Head Of Studio, you will be responsible for all aspects of management of the Stylist and Shoot Assistant teams within the ASOS Studios shooting environment. This will primarily include product page enrichment of 1000+ products per day
  • Leading creative implementation, budget, cost per product, and guarantee volumetric KPIs are adhered to
  • Possess the relevant skill, knowledge and management ability to lead the Stylist and Shoot Assistant teams. Scrutinising all processes throughout the day to day and with a strategic overview
  • Accountable for the definition, creation, maintenance and communication of creative 'shoot guides'
  • Responsible for ensuring all Stylist and Shoot Assistant creatively equipped to deliver styling expectations in line with segment and other adhoc briefs
  • Working with the other mangers and stakeholders to oversee, develop and implement strategic segment evolution, aligned to current trends and fashion relevancy. As well as collaborating on the delivering of creative projects, CTAs, focus shoots and new brands
  • Collaborating with department and retail stakeholders on future shoot development and relaying direction to team in concise effective way
  • Manage pre planning and preparation for scheduled shoots
  • Control all styling wardrobe fashion relevancy in line with creative segments, ensuring we are adhering to our monthly budget
  • Ensure workshops and training the team is constantly carried out in varied creative specialities
  • Ensure team performance KPIs/ SLAs are met to agree levels and constantly identifying opportunities to improve quality and efficiency
  • Conducting regular 1-2-1's with your direct reports. Reviewing personal objectives, ensuring they are supported and guided, and their skill set is developed, and progression assessed. Be accountable that the same is consistently applied to your downline
  • Have a strategic plan for and constantly asses the succession plan within your team at all levels
  • Encouraging team growth and development through objectives and training, ensuring the team are striving to support in the delivery of the department strategy
  • Organise and lead departmental meetings and contribute to external meetings with key stakeholders
  • Be recognised as an aspirational figure within your team and the wider department
  • Lead the team to follow established processes to deliver agreed creative and quality standards in line with departmental strategy
  • Ensure your direct reports are working with PX and internal resourcers to select, interview and on-board new full-timers. Simultaneously maintain a high-quality freelance pool to augment the team when volume requires
  • Ensure your direct reports are deploying of full-time and freelance team resource to optimise the collective team skill set including day to day management in response to absence
  • Encouraging the team to be authentic, brave and creative and motivate them to follow all company and departmental strategies with the highest levels of engagement
  • Responsible for developing and implementing your leadership style and communication in line with ASOS Behaviours policy
  • Working closely with other Management team and all other levels within ASOS Studios to successfully deliver the department strategy. Build strong, professional and collaborative relationships with the wider studio team
  • Forming strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Championing all aspects of ASOS Studios in every interaction
  • Demonstrating excellent brand awareness by identifying areas for review, researching ideas and assessing competition to ensure we are market leaders
  • Designing and implementing automated workflow solutions to streamline departmental practices and processes
  • Overseeing departmental technology software and hardware development and launches
  • Delivering projects to support the department strategy and any other adhoc tasks and projects defined by the Head Of Studio

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with colleagues, freelancers and stakeholders at all levels
  • The ability to remain calm and professional in highly pressured situations while maintaining a positive and proactive attitude
  • A team player who is eager to learn and develop and can grasp new information quickly
  • Computer Skills and Capture One and In Design knowledge desirable but not a requirement
  • Outstanding organisation, time management and prioritisation skills
  • A keen interest in fashion and awareness of current fashion trends and the way these relate to the ASOS customer
  • Keen attention to detail
