The Role / Key Responsibilities
We are looking for someone to drive the print design strategy across our extensive client base. You will be responsible for designing and delivering outstanding print design across multiple clients and product categories.
Day to day you would be designing new prints and graphics, and demonstrating excellent originality within our client’s brand handwriting to offer print newness to the design teams we work with. You would be working from the creation of print trend concepts through to the final design stages and file preparation ready for production.
Alongside designing you would be responsible for working with our external design team todeliver superior design collections above and beyond the expectations of our clients to challenge/inspire print handwriting and push boundaries.
All members of our team must have a strong eye for detail and enjoy finding creative solutions using print techniques and drawing styles to drive incredible commercial aesthetic and value without compromising style.
This role requires a designer who adheres to our client’s critical paths and departmental deadlines ensuring all prints are ready for all key meetings and deadlines. You would be responsible for direct relationship management with our clients, presenting new ideas and designs to their wider teams.
Key Skills and Experience Required
Minimum 3 years fashion industry experience within a print design role, having worked within highstreet retailers and/or supermarkets.
Previous significant print design experience working across all key ladies print categories - sleep/lounge, lingerie, jersey and wovens.
Strong sleepwear handwriting, with a focus on femine all over prints, contemporary conversationals and slogan work.
Ability to identify key print looks/trends and translate into stylish, commercial prints across multiple products and substrates.
Excellent technical print knowledge - In depth and up to date knowledge of print techniques used within the industry.
Strong femine hand drawing skills.
Experience in creating tech packs for suppliers and factories.
Superior level of proficiency in Design IT applications namely Adobe Photoshop, illustrator and Bridge are a must.
Ability to consistently work to high standards producing original print concepts and delivering steps needed through the entire design process to deliver tech pack ready artwork.
Multi task orientated with the ability to work to tight deadlines.
Experience and ability to manage freelance design teams whilst working to your own design deadlines.
Experience maintaining great client relationships and successfully growing design accounts and commissions.
Enjoy working in a fast paced environment on multiple client accounts.
