Urban Outfitters Europe currently has over 50 stores and 4 Concessions, across 11 countries and will continue to grow through the next 18 months. This is an exciting time for our business, and we require people that are passionate about our ethos and dedicated.
We are recruiting a PR Manager for Europe & Emerging Markets, to manage the overall brand and product of Urban Outfitters, supporting the retail network, its constant evolution and the continued growth and success of the online business. We need to leverage the true value of the brand and make it credible again.
Responsible for developing & executing the PR strategy for the brand in the UK, mainland Europe and new international markets
Overhaul current PR process and execution to ensure we innovate in every aspect of what we do and how we do it
Establish PR as a core channel through which to tell our brand story.
Keep our current customer in love with the brand, and get our future customers to fall in love with the brand
Get core media to reestablish and rethink their perception of Urban in all markets
Keep the media aware of what’s happening in stores and always keep the stores close to the media and key initiatives
Balance the need to support both online and in store
Overall responsibility for the communication of all new product launches, creating and executing innovative press launch events with strong media attendance and within the set budget
Develop, manage, and oversee the implementation of a blogger and influencer outreach strategy, in partnership with FR and DE marketing teams and the affiliate acquisition team
Ongoing integration with the Marketing teams to ensure clear and consistent communication of the brand both in the press and in the public i.e. showroom/customer events
Responsible for the development and management of the PR Team
Track monthly PR pick-ups and demonstrate ROI
Work with a PR agency in Paris, Berlin and Barcelona and report on their progress to the senior management team
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience in every aspect of public relations including, but not limited to, editorial product placement and press office, social and ecommerce PR innovations
A proven track record of working with marketing, editorial and buying teams to foster positive matrixed working teams
Ability to display a true appreciation of how to position the Urban brand to this consumer, within the most effective media mix in each and every market
Ideally a proven track record within European and Emerging markets you will have an extensive network of fashion and lifestyle contacts and be capable of successfully managing multiple projects and excelling in a fast-paced environment
You will be the brand ambassador for Urban Outfitters EU

High level of strategic thinking, creativity, and ability to work independently
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong press contacts within the fashion and consumer industry (this is a repeat of the point above re. Proven track record)
Strong organisational skills, able to manage different media timelines and adapt to changing business
