Description

The role

We are looking for an experienced User Experience Designer to champion user-centred design. You will work directly with a UI designer and information architect, collaborating with a larger production team of digital strategists and developers, and embedded across diverse client projects.

Responsibilities

You will oversee the end-to-end UX process, from discovery research to solution delivery, including:
  • Plan, conduct and analyse user research
  • Facilitate client workshops
  • Create a range of deliverables: personas, customer journey maps, wireframes, information architecture documentation
  • Ensure user insights and best practice are reflected in UI designs
  • Work closely with developers to ensure wires and IA plans align with developer plans/budget
  • Collaborate with management and digital strategists to scope new project work and contribute to pitch proposals
  • Educate internal team members and clients on UX activities

About you

You will be an advocate for users, helping to facilitate and close the gap between user needs, client business goals, and digital platform delivery. You will have a strong understanding of the need to be pragmatic with challenging budgets and timelines.
You will work with a diverse range of clients, including charities and non-profits, arts and cultural organisations, and educational institutions.

Our ideal candidate...

  • Puts the user at the centre of their design process.
  • Showcases strong client work and their end-to-end UX process in their portfolio.
  • Balances client business goals with user needs, and understands how to be pragmatic with user research and discovery.
  • Uses Axure and Sketch/InVision to wireframe and prototype solutions (or is able to make a strong argument for using other tools).
  • Has experience working with content management systems, such as Drupal.
  • Communicates insights and ideas effectively, and actively listens to feedback and critique.
  • Is interested in new technologies and keeping up-to-date with industry best practice.
  • Proactively brings forward new ideas and methods of thinking.
  • Is an ambitious learner and keen to develop their career in a fast-paced environment.
