Overall Job Purpose
Immediate has built a strong Experience Design Team of UX Architects, Researchers and UI Designers that help deliver solutions for our internal editors and brand customers. This has included creating a new platform for all of our websites to adopt, as well as improvements in the user experience of these sites. But the work has only really just begun. This UX Architect role will be expected to work collaboratively with this Experience Design Team to practice evidence-based design and UX strategy to deliver a variety of improved experiences for our various brands and products. This role will be responsible for extracting the useful user evidence, communicate insights gathered via both qualitative and quantitative methods.
The right person will be able to think ‘big picture’ (business view of the product), as well as know when to focus on micro-experiences – that, although small, can improve a user’s experience immensely. Confidence in knowing the best research to conduct in order to obtain user needs and insights into behaviour is therefore invaluable.
Working under the guidance of the User Experience Lead, you will work mainly within a multi-disciplinary scrum team to deliver the ‘why’ and UX architecture for a business goal. You should be comfortable working in agile/kanban alongside Visual Designers, Developers and Product Owners, creating UX research and UX design artefacts that help the team: such as user journeys, empathy maps, wireframes, presentations and prototypes. Demonstrable experience delivering digital products across a range of devices, preferably with solid experience on mobile and touch, is expected.
Iterative work is key here, as is collaboration, so the right person should feel comfortable running workshops, doing testing (guerilla and more formal) and iterating your recommendations based upon the evidence gathered. Finally, it always helps to have a great attitude – and be willing to apply best practice whilst learning new ways of doing things!
At Immediate we are keen to promote equality and diversity with all of our roles, and we are supportive of people’s work-life balance, as such, for this role we are happy to discuss flexible working options.
