Hirsch & Mann would like to expand their team and are looking for a design intern.
Hirsch & Mann’s mission is to create memorable experiences for real people. To do this, we use technology in service of the experience – which often includes custom electronics, bespoke lighting and sometimes a touch of electromechanics to truly establish something memorable.
We are a small company and every team member gets involved in many different aspects of projects. We encourage learning outside of your comfort zone across the team and dedicate time and resources to internal R&D projects that have been nominated by the team. Our lively studio is based in Hackney and shares team lunches with our sister company, ‘Technology Will Save Us’.
Hirsch & Mann is looking for a curious design intern with superb visualisation skills, who will help us to bring ideas from ideation to concept generation and final design. The perfect candidate is passionate about putting the needs of the user first, and loves creating an experience that is not only beautiful, but enjoyable, whilst also effectively communicating our clients’ brands.
The experiences created can range from detailed retail execution to a fun and experimental cultural project. With true collaboration at heart, all team members at Hirsch and Mann and their clients play a role in the creative process and love sharing insights.
With a graphic background, the visual design intern will be comfortable creating colour palettes, typography, user interface elements, icons and signage. They will produce design specifications, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes, from time to time dipping their toes into the realms of physical prototyping.
Will successfully communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
Will participate as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team that includes creative leads, designers, project managers, engineers and software developers.
Is currently enrolled in, or has graduated from a relevant design program (either graduate or undergraduate).
Has experience with hand illustration (any medium), video production, visual note-taking, design research, and branding is a plus.
Is passionate about user-centred interaction design particularly for real-world experiences.
Has proficiency with design tools such as Photoshop and Illustrator.
Must be able to share concept visualisation work samples.
The Internship will start mid September.
