We currently operate in Germany and the UK and aim to offer an unparalleled selection of great value products for the home, paired with excellent customer experience. Each Category Management team is responsible for a specific vertical (e.g., lighting, décor, bedding, kitchen), knowing the respective market / industry, and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The team’s ultimate objective is to grow the category by expanding the selection on our website, aligning promotions and operations, merchandising, and marketing activities with the respective teams, and ensuring price competitiveness throughout the catalog. Cross-functional collaboration is key in this role, since the category management teams are in daily contact with internal teams to advance the aforementioned business drivers.
The buying team is responsible for Increasing our product selection by identifying new products to sell on Wayfair, establishing relationships with external suppliers and partnering with our Category Management team to prioritize product addition efforts. Negotiation skills along with relationship building skills are essential.
Cultivating and strengthening relationships with internal and external partners and vendors
Target opportunity areas and recommend solutions to drive results
Use data and creative strategies to communicate efficiently
You will analyze high level business trends to improve conversion on site
You will run competitive landscape and shopping analysis
Utilizing web analytics tools to analyze and optimize performance
Strong academic background in a Business or Technical related field
Exceptional problem solving, analytical skills and a desire to enhance processes
Ability to multi-task, work in a team and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Must be able to work 40h/week (full-time) for 6 months
Proficient with MS Office, especially MS Excel
An entrepreneurial spirit and mindset
Enthusiastic, with proven ability to rapidly get up to speed with job knowledge
