Echo is an Economy of Hours: a marketplace without the money. Our members trade the skills they have for those they need, using a currency called Echoes. The exchange rate is simple: 1 hour = 1 Echo. Echo’s focus is place-based, and East London has been our home since we launched in 2014. Over the past six years, we’ve grown our network to more than 5,500 diverse members - ranging from corporates to startups, residents to community groups - all trading time and skills using the Echo currency. We’ve also used our online platform to power offline social impact programmes, from our peer-to-peer business accelerator (Echo++) to our peer-powered small grants programme. We believe everyone has a skill to share, and we're passionate about using our online platform to power online connections and relationships.
