In 2003, from the UK I immigrated to Australia and for over a decade I have called Western Australia and the Pilbara home. Undeniably, it has given me an irresistible source of inspiration and I found myself drawn to the vast Australian landscape. I wanted to explore this so I began using pastels. My work has varied in theme over the years and often reflects the places I’ve travelled to, however the sea is perhaps my favorite of all subjects. I just can't help myself, I love painting the translucent motion of a wave or its reflective surface. Most of all I want to capture the transition from light and shadow to define dramatic contrasts and compositions. In mid 2015 I decided to take a break from my corporate career to learn and practice art full time. As well as continuing to experiment with my style and subjects, I now teach art and I continue to sell my work.
