About

Melissa is dedicated to art, design and sustainability. It creates shoes that are made from recycled plastic called Melflex, a plastic created by Melissa that is supremely comfortable and offers very little resistance. Our comprehensive collection brings together a range of silhouettes, colourways and collaborations with household names like Vivienne Westwood and the Cambridge Satchel Co. Melissa was founded in 1979, with an inspiration straight from the sea. On the feet of French Riviera fishermen we found the embryo that gave origin to the Aranha model. In a short space of time, it became very popular amongst Brazilians and today still remains one of the most sought after styles. In just the last decade, Melissa produced more than 32 million pairs and is now sold in more than 70 countries worldwide. Together with the Campana Brothers, we take Brazilianness to the world: since 2004, we have created shoes together that translate Brazilian inspirations into plastic.
