20+1

An app designed to create a less daunting and fluid way for graduates and young professionals to connect.

Networking through an interface more familiar with this generation. Social media makes for an easier way for people to express themselves, letting others know what they are doing, proudly displaying their work or achievements or by creating a network through friends and acquaintances.

From university to work is not a step, it is an almighty leap. A leap in to the unknown. The dreaded job search, not knowing anyone, difficulty in getting your foot in the door or sharing your work.
20+1 was designed to help graduates to progress into the professional world.

The idea was to design a professional networking app similar to LinkedIn, just less intimidating and formal. A way for graduates to display their work/portfolios to get recognition, post about recent business ventures and projects, invite one another to apply for jobs or events in which they can network.

The branding name 20+1 came from a hybrid ideas. Firstly and most obviously, 21 is the age most people graduate from university. This is the age the app is targeted at.
Secondly, +1 also refers to the networking side of the app. That the app will lead to adding more contacts, or being invited to events as a 'plus one'.
And lastly 20+1 was a drinking game which is commonly played at university. And thus giving the app a fun and almost whimsical element, which is what I wanted the app to be perceived as in the first place.
