2nd Year Final Work

  • Lisa Peryer
Translating drawn illustrations into a sewn textile piece by experimenting with different found papers, fabrics and coloured threads is the main focus for this project. I was particularly fascinated by the detail of cross-section drawings from botanical illustration books. My project evolved, incorporating dyed fabrics into my collection and presenting my stitched fabrics in contained simple boxes to imply it as being a museum collection. With this work I have enjoyed exploring the structure of flowers and the scientific details, using free hand machine stitch. I am really interested in natural and organic themes, and hope to develop this further in the future.
