A Blackpool Museum Project

Concept for museum design (Winter 2016)
The beach and sea of Blackpool in 1897, I wanted to create an immersive space which would leave the audience feeling nostalgic about their memories by the seaside. Part of a university module which Casson Mann (an exhibition design company) set a live brief to research, design and develop an area of the Blackpool Heritage Museum housed in the Winter Gardens. A multisensory installation where the audience would interact with typical seaside entertainment and puppetry performances. The audience continue into a room to reveal a shipwreck; an experience where the viewer can wonder in the midst of the wreck and discover hidden treasures inspired from Chiharu Shiota’s, The Key in the Hand.
