A Christmas Carol Re-Imagined

This piece has been selected and exhibited at the 'A Christmas Carol Re-Imagined' show hosted at the Charles Dickens Museum from 1st December 2015 to 6th January 2016.
This illustration project is a modern response to Charles Dickens' 'A Christmas Carol'. The brief asked for new illustrations in order to give to Dickens' work a more contemporary feel that would attract younger readers.
Instead of depicting an actual scene from the story, that has been illustrated many times, I decided to create a conceptual image to reflect the most important thematic of the book: redemption.
In fact here, as in the story, Scrooge undergoes a journey passing through nostalgia, pity and fear that will lead him to redemption.
The style refers to the Victorian period in which the story is set.
