A Generation On Hold

  • Henrietta Jenkins

A project focusing on the financial damage caused by COVID-19 to small businesses all over the UK who have struggled since the beginning of lockdown. These businesses are likely to face great financial damage, for many of these small businesses’ their daily cash flow from customers is their ‘lifeblood’. In my small town, the streets are filled with small business' which are already beginning to collapse. Behind each door is tale of hardship for the owners. I collaborated with illustrator Chris Wadden to create a short publication focusing on this topic to transform my graphic images into political, symbolic text-focused montages and collages. John Heartfield and Hannah Hock were both great inspirations for this project.
