I worked on this project with The Imagination Bureau. It was a cinema commercial for a shopping centre. I spent two days on set recording dialogue and soundscapes that I needed to capture for the atmosphere and for editing purposes in post-production. Due to this project having a bigger budget and being storyboarded for about 2 minutes in length, it was a larger project than I had previously encountered. The scenes had much more depth than previous work I had done, some scenes needed soundscapes that would blend seamlessly, but others needed quick cuts to drastically different locations, I used these cuts as a very deliberate comical effect. The video was intended to be funny so I had to emphasize its comical nature in the sound design. The music was created by a separate composer. We both mixed the project together along with the Director. I already had done a mix of my sound design, which I bounced into stems to make it much easier for us to mix with the music. At the final mix stage we intentionally mixed the project for cinema viewing, we felt that because it was shot so cinematically that the sound mix had to be cinematic. The client loved this idea and is pursing putting the commercial into local cinemas.
