In late 2013 I took on the role of Weekend Director for a new conference, Abide Weekend, for young people in East Kent. As the Weekend Director I was responsible for all aspects of the weekend from initial budgeting and building partnerships between other organisations to venue sourcing and delegate management and oversight whilst the conference was in progress. With an annual conference in mind the development of a sustainable conference was a key part of the development of Abide Weekend with a need to develop a sustainable budget and grow good relationships with both venues and contractors.
