Alice sound machine is an old drink distributor transformed in an original system of multimedia processing. During the enjoyment of this experience, the user is invited to interact with the “sound machine”. Selecting the varied types of sounds, moving and pronouncing words, the user becomes the protagonist of a short audio/video composition. The images from the webcam change the composition in real time and the words which have been said are mixed with the sounds of the selected category. The algorithm I developped in Max MSP/Jitter is inspired by the one used in “Fontana mix” by John Cage. The hardware is produced with electronic waste material with the help of Giorgio Taramasso.
