Alone - video

  • Joseph Sparkes
Alone is a short photographic stop motion animation visually exploring the emotions felt by someone who suffers from mental illness in an attempt to offer insight into a widely undiscussed topic. The video combines a true account from an individual suffering with mental health issues with made footage implying the confusion, struggle, frustration and loneliness that can come from similar circumstances. By educating and raising awareness, Alone aims to change society’s attitude towards the prejudgement of strangers, asking you to consider a person’s past, current and potential future burdens before condemning them to your own preconceptions.
“Are you proud of yourself tonight that you have insulted a total stranger whose circumstances you know nothing about?” – Harper Lee
