I was applying for a job at Ogilvy when I first finished AWARD School. This was one of the briefs the creative director gave me to work on. I didn't get the job but I did get this lovely email from the CD afterwards -
Just wanted to let you know that I was very impressed with your work, and I will keep you on my list. I have shortlisted to a couple people who are juniors but who have been writing in agencies for a couple of years… it was purely a matter of how much time I have to train someone up. As you know, things change very frequently in the ad business, so an opportunity could come up at any time. I will also be happy to recommend you to any of my colleagues in other agencies who are looking.
I'm sure our paths will cross and that we'll have the opportunity to work together, even if not in the immediate future.
