Arakhne

Those images are the fabric designs that I have made for a contest. The theme was "Arakhne" from Greek mythology. She is the one who stand against Hera and told her that she is way more talented than Hera. She was the one who did Hera's wedding dress. Unfortunately, Hera turned Arakhne into a spider and made her live her life as a spider because she was standing against her. Also this is how spider webs are one of the strongest weaving in the world and this fabric collection is in a memory of her, who stand against one of the most powerful Goddess and for the women who are brave and strong. She says, "I don't sat that I hung the moon and the stars, but I am telling the truth"

So actually you can see the rigid shapes and geometric influences of the spider webs. Black, white, gray and orange. Not so sophisticated as colors maybe but the shapes and the conflict between threads are explaining themselves.
