Armenian Diaspora

1.5 million Armenians died in the Armenian Genocide starting in 1915. Ethnic Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks were systematically exterminated by the Ottoman government.
Diaspora comes from the Greek word dia ‘across’ and speirein ‘scatter’. The modern Armenian Diaspora was formed largely because of the Armenian Genocide. This film explores the stories of three different Armenians, they discuss their different experiences and emotional consequences of being a member of the Armenian Diaspora. The audios present a journey into the emotions of the three as they discuss how being of the Armenian Diaspora has profoundly impacted them.
