Art Warehouse – Artist Colony and Studios for Creatives
Creating studios for artists to rent in the heart of Portsmouth.
It was essential for me that the new studio insertions were not to touch the existing building and that it was treated as a precious piece of history within itself. Patrons of the studios are able to experience the counterpoint between the new materials used for the insertions and the original preserved structure.
Designing furniture for the studios was a challenge as each space is individual. I created a suite of plywood flat pack furniture that could be interchangeable between spaces, also easy to replace, cost effective & sustainable.
