Artificial Islands Pt 1

  • Tom Cecil
A exploration into the city I live in, even a city over flourished with beauty concerning landmarks and architecture rich in history, for an endless chance of finding that special shot. There is still hidden beauty in the everyday social arrangements of city congestion, therefore this is a personal project to celebrate the mundane in my city, first off in the series being multi-story car parks.
with help from Jack Glover.
The purpose is taken away from the Multi-story car park for myself. The function is removed from my interest to create a platform to view structure, way finding design and life. The birds eye view of built up areas almost showcase inner city life through commuting routes or even the most absurd situations.
The systematic way of design featured in Multi-stories creates a maze of interest for people like myself who explore ideas of psych geography, much like the “situationist” of the 50’s

And Ben Sewell
A space in which the congested city dwellers leave their vehicles of green house gases, a space in which you can go and get a fresh perspective of the city and space you find yourself. It gives you a vantage point of the world below, letting you get a fresh perception on the choices you make and things you do.
