Artistic Politics of the Drone

Editorial design | 2018 Carla Benzing approached to me design an exhibition catalogue for her Central Saint Martins Degree Show, which was shaped around the use of drones in a fine art context. I started the process by understanding the nature of her work that this exhibition entailed. The research-based showcase explored the political limits of the drone from an artistic perspective. I was drawn to the bold tone of Carla’s work touching upon many areas such as privacy, voyeurism and the moral responsibilities of the artist. I was commissioned to design a printed exhibition catalogue to capture the theoretical background of the artist’s statement. Due to a curatorial decision, the material was heavily text-based with a number of internet images. Client: Carla Benzing
