Triora is a fascinating medieval village in the extreme west of Liguria, Italy, but its suggestive beauty hides a dark past. In 1587 it actually saw the most famous witches trial of the Italian history and for this reason it is often compared to Salem, even though Triora's events took place more than a century before the New England town's.
