Ryan Wooding will need to approve that you worked on “Axil Magazine” before we add you as a collaborator.

Axil Magazine

Axil Magazine is a slow-lifestyle gardening/plant magazine that highlights the therapeutic nature of the act of gardening. The design of the magazine includes art directed photography by Ryan, to cover each of the four seasons that the magazine is realised in; the first being the 'Spring to Summer' Issue.
Trying to avoid the cliches, such as line illustrations of plant life and delicate watercolours that may be employed in other similar magazines, the plant life in Axil is displayed through photography, typography and careful selection of coloured paper. Typographic inspiration comes from the irregular hand drawn lettering found in many allotments (expressed through the typeface Boijmans) and the rigid layouts that many gardeners enforce in their own gardens.
