B.R.A.I.S | Audio Reactive Device

Box of Reactive Audio Illumination System B.R.A.I.S is an audio reactive device born as a consequence of the vfx engineering of Drop. A unique opportunity to relate with voice, music or sound from a visual perspective. A matter with great implications if we refer to people with hearing disabilities. I am currently involved in an exploration processs with this device, experiencing with spatial and scenographic narratives. B.R.A.I.S is an Arduino based light and sound mixing table that controls 8 channels of 40 meters of Electro Luminescent Wire each, and make them react with 8 frequencies of a sound wave. Precisely choosing where and how wide the division is, and controlling each channel sensitivity. B.R.A.I.S is essentially a sound to electric impulses converter or in other words, a synesthesic device capable of translating sound into rhythmic light pulses. This prototype is a silent machine optimized for 300 meters of EL Wire o EL Panels. Síntesis Creative Studio picked up the Third Prize in the Maker Faire Galicia 2017, and up to Four Maker of Merit Badges from the organization members.
