BAFTA 2014 Film Awards Campaign

  • Paul Willoughby
An immersive above-the-line campaign that amped up big anticipation for Britain’s most prestigious awards night.

BAFTA needed a campaign that could do everything: build awareness and excitement, make BAFTA night feel as big as the Oscars, create a magical experience for those attending, encourage everyone else to tune in.
And they needed this to happen across multiple formats and media, from a printed poster on the London underground to a hashtag on Twitter…

We decided to focus on the emotion behind the event: a “Cinemmersive” concept that allowed us to create a cohesive campaign infused with the feeling of being immersed in a great screen experience.
We conceptualised, designed and commissioned all campaign collateral: posters, brochures, tickets, menus and portraits of the film world’s biggest stars, with exciting contributions from award-winning photographer Andy Gotts MBE and illustrators La Boca.
The evocative imagery seen across the campaign - showing a tiny figure against a huge landscape - expresses the transporting power of film, television and BAFTA to absorb us in a world that’s bigger than life.
