Ballantine's Loud Blue

Ballantine’s Loud Blue was a algorithim that turned photos into music. It took metadata (colours, faces, landscapes) and transformed it into unique, 20 second music samples. Users took a photo, tagged it #loudblue and shared, then received their track back.
The "how to" film (above) gave the agorithm a flashy charcater. We made this for the inaguural Brazilian launch, in partnership with Felguk, who programmed the first itteration of Loud Blue with their samples (so everyone got their own soundbite of Felguk when they played with it).
Felguk then resampled all the photo music into the first Loud Blue anthem for Brazil. We featured all the image used in the music video (below).
