baseline cover design
This is a really old project. I was fresh out of University. Hans Dieter commissioned me to create a cover design illustrating the Herman Zapf quote 'Typography is fundamentally two dimensional architecture.' I was so scared!
I worked with each word deconstructing it in layering and reprinting woodblock. Then used a photocopier to play with size and scale and layout by hand. It was printed litho. It won typographic awards from the ISTD. Old School. A pivotal moment in my early career.
