BBC History Magazine 'The King Arthur Delusion'

Three illustrations for BBC History Magazine’s December ’18 issue. They accompanied the essay titled ‘The King Arthur Delusion’ written by Nick Higham. The illustrations depict King Arthur in battle, the sword Excalibur and Geoffrey of Monmouth, author of The History of the Britons.

The process that I used for this was purely digital, inspired by the linocut aesthetic. With quick turn around briefs, approaching the image making using Photoshop whilst referencing linocut techniques is usually a far more realistic and efficient method.
