The project is driven by the idea of connection between a human being and the environment, our recklessness in using natural resources and irresponsibility in production/consumption of energy. This theme became an inspiration; it was also strongly influenced by Victor Papanek and his idea of “Responsibility of design”.
Using jewellery as a medium I aimed at pointing out the preciousness of energy and its beauty. The aesthetic beauty of fine jewellery as well as its most common materials such as copper, silver and gold were combined with contemporary jewellery for its ability to clearly convey concept in a straightforward way. I started my collection with the idea of showing the beauty of attributes of energy in an environment where it is more common to see precious stones and pearls. By placing them in such position I wanted to show how precious batteries, wires and bulbs can be.
Through the contrast of electric light and shadow, transparency of the form and lightness of the structure I wanted to bring the feeling of joy and tranquillity.
