Being At Home
Being At Home is an extension of Wild At Home, created in response to the Coronavirus pandemic. The intention is to carefully approach consumer’s needs by suggesting ways of carving out space in the home for mindful rituals and developing a calming, sanctuary experience, promoting positivity, safety, wellbeing, and sustainability.
For this add-on collection, the motif designs are slightly more ditsy and floral, contrasting to Wild At Home motif designs, which were more organic, unusual shapes. The Being At Home prints are more suitable for their intended application.
The intention for this yoga mat is to be made from natural tree rubber, with one tree planted for every mat manufactured. Natural tree rubber is non-slippery and provides a good grip.

A stainless steel, reusable water bottle. Being At Home has an enhanced appeal due to matching products, all of which promote physical and mental wellbeing.

Meditation cushion, with design printed onto 100% natural organic cotton (cotton drill fabric). The material is hard wearing and heavy weight, and has absolutely no contact with chemicals throughout the entire manufacturing process.

A third and final design for this add-on collection, motifs inspired by florals in my photographic Visual Research.
Yoga block, made from foam. I have used foam for this product because sustainable materials typically used for yoga blocks such as cork and bamboo, would severely alter the print design. I did not want to detract from the original concept through the use of natural and organic shapes as a way of bringing the outdoors in. Despite this product being made from foam, Being At Home as a whole promotes wellbeing and Responsible Design – two things which are very relevant in the current social climate.
