Billennium is a short story written by J.G. Ballard, a sci-fi story set in the future where the world is becoming increasingly overpopulated. With a population of around 20 billion, people live crowded in small cubicles, making the most of what they've got, to preserve as much land as possible for farming.
My front cover design sets the 'scene' of the story and hints towards the reader that there is a certain character or person involved. Without revealing too much detail and become too literal, my front cover design speaks to isolation in a setting that appears to be dark and dismal, representing the environment in which the story is set. Reflected through the single figure are crowds of people, all becoming the same and losing identity, portraying the ongoingness of everyday life as population increases.
