Billingsgate

Billingsgate Market in Poplar is the UK's largest inland fish market initially established in the 19th century in the City of London, taking its name from Billingsgate, one of the City's wards. The market is run by the City of London corporation and is renowned for its bright green floors and colourful language. I aimed to advertise the market and capture the essence of the environment and the workers that maintain the trade which runs between 4 and 8:30 a.m. As society gets up and starts their working day, for many of the workers of Billingsgate, their day ends as ours begins.
