This project was a group effort to create a new online presence for the German BMW.TV website in order to increase the use of the many corporate videos BMW publishes online. In order to do that, we developed possible personae that make up BMWs target group to be able to have an insight into the user journey. We found that, even though our personae have various backgrounds and interests, they were using the website to either receive more information about a specific theme, or to be entertained and to entertain other likeminded.

Therefore we created a website that focuses on those two interests. It became a unique entertainment platform in which we allow the users to lose themselves in the fascinating videos and go seamlessly from one to the next, but also to find specific videos or information through the search bar within the navigation.

To do so we developed a website that we call „The BMW Universe“ – A website that encourages the user to browse within the website and to be entertained. Through its network structure it connects related themes and flags up interesting videos. Information is displayed by hover-overlays before choosing the video and ‘information-points’ that float over the video while playing it. This function can also easily be switched off.

The BMW Universe also offers a standard page for those who prefer a more traditional alternative to the network structure.
