One performer pop, locks, and plies in a poetic portrait of dance

Exploring the emotions that dance invokes in different people, filmmakers András Ladocsi and Viktor Németh turn their lens on dancer Hanga Czedulás, as she offers a stunning lesson in movement. "Hanga is an incredible dancer and we felt inspired to make this film about our friend," say Ladocsi and Németh.

Juxtaposing a performance from Hanga and footage of a class of young ballerinas, Ladocsi and Németh capture two seemingly different dance styles—one dictated by longstanding rules, and the other by freestyle and improvised choices. "We wanted to explore, and celebrate, the differences and similarities between these two styles of movement," say the directors.
