Book "Soldiers!"
Protest Book made from the text of The Final Charlie Chaplin's Speech from "The Great Dictator". (University project, 2019)
The brief was to design and set up the overarching typographic style of the book design that conveys the tone and content of the book.
I chose my text from The Final Charlie Chaplin's Speech from "The Great Dictator", as I always thought that the speech was special and powerful. Since it is political and full of emotion, I decided to use black, white and red colours.
During my process, I started to connect the text to the current world issues and realised that even though the speech was written in 1940s, it still is relevant today. Therefore, I decided to add a few photographs of known events and protestors of 21st century, which made the book even more special and powerful.
