Self initiated project. My brand concept for “Botanikoko” was to create a figure head which could be instantly recognisable to the company. I chose to use a stylised illustration of the Aztec deity, Quetzalcoatl who was said to be the pioneer of chocolate. The myths say that Quetzalcoatl took the cocoa plant from paradise, descended by travelling on the rays of the Morning Star and brought it down for mankind, in which he taught them how to use it. This was a gift to the Aztecs and was previously guarded by the other gods who reserved it for themselves. This is a connotation of how chocolates are usually given as gifts to loved ones and promotes the act of sharing.
